Question by Jen: I need opinions on wedding style! Photos included!?
We were planning on having a “Country-Western” themed wedding, but the place we are having it at is more “Classy” than rustic. Also, we were going to do a bar-b-que buffet but I found a GREAT “Southern Bell” menu. If we went with a “country” wedding, would it be tacky to incorporate some Western motif? For example, horseshoes, cowboy boots, etc. I had planned on wearing boots under my dress. There will also be a bonfire, hayrides and a petting zoo.
I have included a link to the photo page of the “Antique barn” where we will have our reception. (Which has some decorations as u can see). The ceremony will be on the lawn under a large oak. Oh, the wedding will most likely be in the fall and I wanted chocolate brown and sunflower yellow for my colors. (I planned on having a bouquet of daisies and black-eyed Susan’s). The colors are more rustic, but the flowers country! The tables will have red and white checkered gingham table cloths, a hurricane lamp with a candle in it for center pieces, and raffia (straw) wrapped around the base of the hurricane lamp. I was going to wrap plastic wear in bandanas and tie with raffia, but that would only be fitting for a bar-b-que buffet. Thanks for your help!! (link to menu included as well)

Chastity: I don’t think I can al1ter the menu…..I found another caterer that has a bar-b-que menu but they haven’t gotten back to me on the price. Either Menu 1 or the Texas Rodeo menu at the bottom of the page.

As far as the gingham as I said we were going for “down-home country western” so the Gingham fit the “bar-b-que” picnic theme. I love your idea about the runners but feel it may be too fancy.
Sophie: Thank you but I am talking about wedding styles as explained above, not dresses. I have several dresses in mind but was going to post that as a seperate question. Thank you though.
Ihavethat45: The dinner wear will be disposable. I found the bandanas dirt cheap online so there’s no problem trashing them afterwards. (Or alowing the quests to take them home). I could have a small stack of paper napkins on each table as well. As far as favors, I was thinking personalized hot sauce or bar-b-que sauce for the guys and personalized apple butter for the gals. Thay can switch up if needbe. I want something they can use and not some favor they will be “kicking” around the house for years because they feel obligated too! LOL! Here are the pics:
