Question by daisies: How can I clean the grate on my gas range of burnt plastic?
I accidentally put a plastic table cloth on the hot grates of my gas range. Now there is burnt plastic on the grates. Any ideas how I can get it off? It seems to be merged on to the grate. Thanks.
Best answer:
Answer by Aseleener You have to heat the grates so that the plastic gets soft again and you can scrape it off. Can you put them in the oven? Just be sure to keep your eye on it so that the plastic doesn’t melt again and drip into your oven.
I used to get melted bread sack on the top of my toaster and the only way to get it off was to turn the toaster on again and scrape it off when it softened up.

Question by Ray-Ray: will my wedding look cheap if i use plastic tablecloths & skirts, even though my centerpiece are very elegant?
for my wedding i was planning on having white tablecloths with blue table runners. then, i found out to rent them it will cost me 0 and thats with a great discount, i will have to dip into my honeymoon money if i do that. for my center pieces i will have moirrors with heart glass bowls with floating candles in them and then flower petals scattered out and then smaller candles in between with hearts on them. i do not have much money left and if i rent the cloth tablecloths it will make me broke. i was going to make them but its not going to save me that much money at all. if i buy material to make them it will only be cheaper and thats not a lot.
my question is:
can i get away with getting plastic tablecloths and plastic skirts or will it look cheap?
the cloth tablecloths will be 0 and the plastic will be like . is it worth the savings to go with plastic?
do you think with my centerpieces being beautiful and the candles being so bright, that it will take away attention on the plastic tablecloths?
have you seen plastictablecloths done at a wedding and it look good?
please help me out!!!
i need about 40-50 tablecloths that will cover 8 foot banquet tables (30 wide,96 long)

Answer by dagmar303 I work in catering, and yes, plastic tablecloths, if done right, can look nice. You can find nice, thick plastic tablecloths and skirts at hobby/craft stores such as michaels or hobby lobby. Low prices do not have to look cheap.
Question by Oma: How can you restore a{ Oak} dark varnished dinning table top that has mired by covering it with plastic ?
Best answer:
Answer by Dewaltdisney Oak is a naturally a very light wood and it is stained down to get the darker colours. This can be done by staining the wood or using a lacquer with the colour pigments mixed in. Some care must be taken as the table top (probably) might be a veneer and therefore care must be taken in rubbing down as you could go through the thin surface to the substrate.
I would suggest a caustic stripper and get it back to wood using care. Wire wool can leave small deposits in the oak surface which will turn black in time so use scourers. Sand back progressively with finer grades and decide if you will use a polyurethane finish holding the stain or pre-stain with a mineral oil stain to reach the colour to match before a lacquer finish.
It is difficult to recommend a process without seeing the job so be careful, take your time and you should be able to make a good job of it,
Good luck

I wasn’t able to make this dress until I’ve found large piece of plastic. I made the Bad Romance Plastic Top with small pieces, but it wouldn’t have suited this dress. So I was happy when I discovered the plastic in my yard. It came wrapped around some new doors to my familys house. So it is packaging plastic. I don’t know where to buy just the plastic, but you can always order some new doors to your house if you are in need of transparent dress. Okay, okay, you can use transparent shower curtain or some tablecloth. By the way, this video is uploaded 10.11.2010, on clock 14.14.14. Music: Telephone (best 8-bit remix) it’s its name, but it’s really 16-bit music. So cool anyway!
The Authors@Google program was thrilled to welcome acclaimed chef, restaurateur, Food Network personality and author Mario Batali to Google’s New York office to discuss his new book, “Italian Grill”. Raised in Seattle, Mario’s initial career path had him studying the golden age of Spanish theater at Rutgers University. Soon after graduating he took his first bit of culinary training at Le Cordon Bleu in London, from which he withdrew almost immediately due to a “lack of interest.” An apprenticeship with London’s legendary chef Marco Pierre White and three years of intense culinary training in the Northern Italian Village of Borgo Capanne, (population 200) gave him the essential skills and knowledge to return to his native US, anxious to plant his orange-clogged foot firmly in the behinds of the checkered tablecloth-Italian restaurant establishment. Among his many accolades, Mario was named “Man of the Year” in the chef category by GQ Magazine in 1999. In 2002, he won the James Beard Foundation’s “Best Chef: New York City” award and in 2005 the James Beard Foundation awarded Mario “Outstanding Chef of the Year.” Mario is also one of the recipients of the 2001 D’Artagnan Cervena Who’s Who of Food & Beverage in America, a prestigious lifetime achievement award. Mario Batali has created a thriving restaurant empire and has established himself as a top restaurateur. Question by deuce1920: Should I use paper or plastic tablecloths for the wedding reception?
I live in the Atlanta area. We have a small budget for our wedding reception. To rent a tablecloth for banquet size tables is a piece. We have 15 tables. I am not about to spend 0 dollars for tablecloths alone. We are only using clear plastic plates.
What is the best alternative to using linen tablecloths?
Best answer:
Answer by ♥ Between the two I’d say plastic will be more durable. The paper ones will be completely ruined as soon as someone spills a little something on them.
