While candles are beautiful and make for a romantic setting, when that excess wax spills over, they can cause more problems than it’s worth. If the wax merely spills onto a hard surface, no problem, just scrape it off. But when it spills onto fabric, such as your couch or carpeting, it’s another story altogether. Well, not anymore! Removing wax is simple. Place a dry paper towel over the area and press a hot iron to it gently. This is to re-melt the wax while immediately absorbing it into the paper towel. Caution! Make sure you don’t burn the carpet, furniture or paper towel by leaving the iron on too long. Repeat this procedure a few times until the wax is gone. If after a few times there is still some remaining, take a little bit of home dry-cleaning solvent and with a damp cloth, dab the area lightly. Use as little solvent as possible so it doesn’t harm the carpet’s backing. Another solution is to combine mild, liquid detergent with a little bit of warm water and blot the area in the same way with a cloth. Use detergents with no bleach or alkalides. I accidentally put a plastic table cloth on the hot grates of my gas range. Now there is burnt plastic on the grates. Any ideas how I can get it off? It seems to be merged on to the grate. Thanks.

Answer by Aseleener You have to heat the grates so that the plastic gets soft again and you can scrape it off. Can you put them in the oven? Just be sure to keep your eye on it so that the plastic doesn’t melt again and drip into your oven.
I used to get melted bread sack on the top of my toaster and the only way to get it off was to turn the toaster on again and scrape it off when it softened up.

Answer by Jackson Take a smooth, clean sponge and you can clean it with water and just let it air dry. Or you can buy some spray foam cleaning bottle at a ping pong shop or online. You dont need much to clean a rubber.

Answer by logan they sell dry cleaning cloths at the grocery stores especially for the dryer. i would use those. no reason to ruin the clothes by taking a chance and washing them the normal way.

I have a marble table and it has water marks from glasses and other marks all over it. I bought the special cleaner for marble counter tops but it is not doing anything. Answer by linda l I have the same issue with my marble top coffee table. The problem is that it was not sealed properly. All I can suggest is that you remove the marks as best you can and them seal the marble before there’s any more damage. I used a Mr.MagicEraser on my table and it removed some of the stains, but not all. Good luck.

Our kitchen table is pretty new, only a couple months old. We have a two year old and well he’s a messy eater (like all little kids), LOL. What can I do to safely clean the kitchen table? It’s made of a very nice mahogany wood and I want to keep it looking nice. Short of using furniture polish every day, what can I do for a quick clean in between polishings?

Answer by Greg’s Wife I’ve had a lovely wooden kitchen table and I’m about to have my 4th child under 5, so it’s dirty everyday:)
I’ve used soap and water everyday and that works fine for a clean (make sure it is dried though).
I love a polish before the hubby gets home, it makes the room sparkle.
