Question by April: What do you think of these black silk rose petals?
Our wedding colors are black and white. I stumbled across these earlier and wondered what everyone thought of them. We are having white linen on the tables and thought these might work for a dash of color on the table.

What about mixing it with a little bit of pink also? We are using pink as the accent color with the flowers.

How do I sanitize a black dish cloth? I use it to wipe counter tops, tables, messes in the kitchen and sink. I don’t want to soak in bleach because it will become white and ruined. I don’t wanna microwave because it doesn’t kill all bacteria…so what should I do..peroxide? Does that work? If so how much do I put? Or should I just throw it out? I have been using it for almost a year, but it’s in great condition(looks new)..do I toss it? I toss my sponge every month because I use it the most. Please educate me:) thx

you can wash it in hot water with a small amt of bleach it won’t hurt it, if you don’t soak it in pure, undiluted bleach.

You may be limited to the color of tablecloths so try black with copper accents. You can do copper-like pots (with flowers or something) as your centerpieces.

I want to do black bridesmaids dresses with a pale pink sash, and probably pale pink peonies and roses in their bouquets. I would do white linens on the tables, with pink flowers in the centerpiece. Escort cards will have a black and pink stripe down the side, as my invites do. What do you think?
Oh! I was also thinking of adding a hint of lime green somewhere…. possibly just with green berries in the bouquets.

lightly sand all surfaces to be painted. Prime all surfaces with a good alkyd ( oil based) primer. Paint with a premium acrylic enamel or any industrial enamel. Enamel has a tight, hard finish and typically creates a good moisture barrier.
Make sure you allow the primer to dry over night, and don’t use a rattle can, use the real stuff.

I bought a painted black dining room table last year and before I could purchase a glass top for it, the paint has been scratched / flaked in several places. I REALLY don’t want to sand and repaint the whole table! What kind of paint can I use to repair the damaged areas that will blend in and last? I will then cover it with glass.

I had the same problem until I was told of an easy and cheap way to fix it and it worked ! I used some Linseed oil on a cloth and give it a good rub saturate the cloth with it and wipe let it sit for a few hours or overnight and the next day wipe with a dry cloth .

Large glass centerpiece with black rock or stone in the bottom with a candle in the center.They have beautiful big glass vases at walmart even target.They’re elegant but just simple glass so you could just fill them yourself.They would look beautiful.Then maybe just put white flowers surrounding the bottom of the vase.Good luck Im sure it will be beautiful.
