Is this a reasonable price for a caterer?

Question by saracita504: Is this a reasonable price for a caterer?
She said .70 per person for a buffet type set-up. It include servers, linens for the tables and table decorations, a serving of each dish in a to go box for me and my fiance, and they clean everything up and put all the left over food in boxes at the end. I’m just wondering because I had no idea how much caterers normally run, and would appreciate some idea.
I already ahve the venue booked, and the bar is through them. All I have left is the caterer.

Oh and I live in Louisiana.
The price includes tax. It include like two big meal type dishes (chicken &sausage gumbo and crawfish fettucine) lol you can tell Im form Louisiana… 4 types of finger sandwiches, hot wings, stuffed jalapenos, potato salad, fruit center piece, fruit tray, vegetable tray, mexican dip, spinach/ artichoke dip, rolls, crackers, a punch… And like I said all the plates, linens, decorations and 5 servers.

bridal shower venue, San Jose, CA

Question by annamauria: bridal shower venue, San Jose, CA
Hi everyone! I need help with a bridal shower venue for a wedding I am in. There are only 3 bridesmaids so the budget is not as large as I am used to. If we don’t book something quick, it will be in someones back yard and that can add up too, renting tables, chairs, linens, etc…

      Answer by ♥ April ♥
What is your budget? About how many people are you expecting?
You can try looking into the city of San Jose website. You can look into renting a community center or a park – the rose garden is beautiful and available for rent.
You can also look into local restaurants – a lot of them have back rooms to accomodate a bridal shower…but again, it all depends on your budget.
      Good luck!

        My Potential Menu, Please Review?

Question by YouWish25 is Ready 4 Christmas: My Potential Menu, Please Review?
I’m just interested in receiving feedback about my potential wedding menu. I’m interested if you think this a good deal, considering all we are getting. Also, how much would you pay for this menu, where you live? I’m interested in comparing the prices, since pricing depends mainly on what region you live in.

5 Hour Open Bar (a must where I live and included in our package price)

Cocktail Hour w/ stuffed breads, fried Calamari, Eggplant Rollatini, Scallops wrapped in Bacon, Stuffed Clams, Shrimp, Assorted Cheeses and Veggie Crudite (maybe a few more too)

3-Course Dinner: Salad (Appetizer) Penne Vodka (Pasta Course) and Entree (probably Chicken Marsala, Steak-either Prime Rib/Filet Mignon and Stuffed Sole) This would be served with a vegetable and whipped potatoes.

        Wedding Cake and Coffee

I’m also trying to budget in a Venetian Table w/ fresh fruit, assorted pastries, cheesecake, etc.

We are looking at a number of different places. But, this will probably cost anywhere between -0 per person, hopefully.

This also includes all the linens, the chairs, tables, waitstaff, set-up, clean-up, use of the room, use of the grounds for pictures, etc.

Tips for planning a cheap wedding.?

Question by Kat Woman: Tips for planning a cheap wedding.?
Ok so we have the basics down.

Along with our large wedding we are having a smaller wedding with my very close family and his families close friends and family. This is an Indian Hindu wedding to respect and honor his heritage and families faith. We have the basics down…

Rentals (tent, fans and air conditioning, china, glasses, chairs, silverware, linens, tables & dance floor)

              ,000

Caterers (they also provide chafing dishes and servers. Include appetizer, naan, parentha, 3 veg dish, 2 meat, 2 rice, and 2 dessert. Coffee, tea, and lassi)

              ,000

              DJ (with Indian mc)

              0

              Flowers for Mundup, and garlands

              0

Bar (open bar, sodas, and water)

              ,000

Invites (RSVP cards, and postage include.)

              0

My father is building our Mundup and fire plate for us, we are not including our clothing in the budget. This leaves only ,500 for everything else. Ok so my question is

What can I do for favors, and centerpieces on such a tight budget (about 100
              people, 10 tables)?

What is left that I am forgetting?

I should mention I am Italian American, so I really don’t know what is to be included…
Actually for the Indian DJ in northern NJ this is one of the cheapest we could find. They go from about 900-2100. So that kind of sucks.. haha

I should mention also have a photographer

well first off, congrats, i hope it lasts long second, i think you could find a much cheaper DJ, the most i’ve seen is… maybe 500. I would tell u where to find a good dj, but i have no clue here u live.

you need to go to a dollar store, it can still be a beautiful wedding, even w/ a few things from a dollar store.
